Do you charge for repair estimates?

No. Repair estimates at Bob's Original Sweeper Shop are always free. Bring your machine in to our Erlanger, Kentucky location and one of our technicians will assess it and tell you exactly what it needs and what the repair will cost before any work is done. There's no obligation and no fee just for having us take a look. We believe you should know what you're getting into before you commit to a repair.

What vacuum brands do you carry and service?

We carry premium brands including Riccar, Miele, Sebo, Dyson, Shark, and Hoover, along with Simplicity machines that many longtime customers still request by name. For parts, we stock bags, belts, and filters for virtually all major brands on the market, so even if you didn't buy your machine from us, we can likely help keep it running. Our technicians are experienced with a wide range of makes and models.

Can you handle warranty repairs without me shipping my vacuum to the manufacturer?

Yes, and that's one of the biggest advantages of buying from a local specialty shop. We handle warranty service on-site at our Erlanger location. You don't have to box up your machine and ship it to a manufacturer, then wait weeks to get it back. You bring it to us, we take care of it, and you pick it up locally. For anyone who has invested in a high-end machine, that kind of local support is a significant benefit that online retailers simply cannot offer.

Are your prices competitive with what I'd find online?

Yes. We match the lowest permitted advertised prices on the brands we carry. So you get the same price you'd find online, plus the benefit of seeing the machine in person, getting honest advice from someone who knows the product, and having a local shop to come back to for repairs and warranty service. There's no price premium for buying local at Bob's.

Do you sell used vacuums in addition to new ones?

We do. In addition to our selection of new machines, we carry used vacuum cleaners that have been checked over by our technicians. Used units can be a good option if you're looking for a quality machine at a lower price point. Stop in and we'll walk you through what's currently available and help you decide whether a new or used machine makes more sense for your needs and budget.

Do you offer central vacuum system installation for new construction?

Yes. We work with builders and homeowners throughout Northern Kentucky on central vacuum system installations. If you're building or renovating and want to include a central vacuum as part of the project, we offer free in-home estimates. Central vacuum systems are a practical, long-lasting upgrade that keeps cleaning equipment out of your living space and reduces the noise and hassle of traditional vacuuming.

What areas do you serve beyond Erlanger?

Our shop is located in Erlanger, Kentucky, but we serve customers from across the Tri-State area. That includes Northern Kentucky communities like Florence, Covington, Newport, Walton, Fort Mitchell, Independence, Hebron, and Crescent Springs, as well as Greater Cincinnati and Hamilton County in Ohio, and Lawrenceburg, Indiana. If you're in the region and need vacuum repair services or a quality machine, we're worth the drive.

Can I rent a carpet cleaner from your shop?

Yes. We offer Rug Doctor carpet cleaner rentals through our consignment program. It's a straightforward, affordable way to deep clean your carpets without buying a machine you'll only use a few times a year. Rentals are available at our Erlanger location, and it's also a great way to experience the difference that professional-grade cleaning equipment makes before deciding whether a purchase makes sense for your household.

Since 1971, Bob's Original Sweeper Shop has been the family-owned vacuum shop Northern Kentucky residents turn to when they want real answers and real repairs. We've watched brands come and go, technology change, and big-box stores pop up and fade out. Through all of it, we've stayed focused on one thing: giving customers a machine that works and the support to keep it that way. Our shop on Dixie Highway in Erlanger has served pet owners, parents, allergy sufferers, and conscientious homeowners across Kenton, Boone, Campbell, and Hamilton counties. We know this community, and this community knows us.
